stay cozy

Oh, Sweet December!

Elina December, SelfCare

A very short and sweet post on tradition let’s go!

As per tradition, our family gathers on December first. A few days before I and my husband go out to buy a Christmas tree. We let it relax its branches for a few days and then on December first we decorate it with the whole family including the little ones. It’s usually a very fun affaire. The services of the decorators are usually bought with good food and fun board games. It’s a very beloved tradition in our family because it’s simply the best way to start the magical month of December.

We bake cookies and eat them with chocolate milk. I always bake something in the oven (as the main dish) so the whole house smells festive. I almost always put on some Christmas music (if mom doesn’t insist on karaoke, that happens every year) and the whole atmosphere is just warm and fun. It’s a relaxed day without the running around and fussing as per usual on Christmas itself.

I wanted to share with you this tradition and maybe you can adopt it too. It doesn’t have to be a family gathering it can also be a gathering of friends. Something that will make you feel warm and cozy. Today’s prompt was a sweater because December equals sweaters: ugly and not so ugly ones.

I just hope you are warm and cozy and I wish you a very comfy December. (I know ‘comfy’ is not a real word but it contains a great feeling so it will do)

Wish you well,

Elina
