Wooly socks

Curtains And Wooly Socks

Elina December, SelfCare

Today was a whirlwind of activity a lot of stuff that needed to get done before the end of the year. We needed to remodel Richard’s room a bit because he needs a desk and there wasn’t a place for it. Also, the windows needed to be cleaned in his room and he wanted to transform his bed so we did that also.

I didn’t share it here but I’m also challenging myself to do something in the ‘hygge’ spirit every day. I mean I love December so much. I love Christmas preparations and anticipation. But at the same time, just anticipation alone is not enough for me I want to do something that makes me enjoy every day of December.

Today’s prompt was making the place where you sleep cozy. And that’s why I tackled our bedrooms. We definitely made Richard’s room cozy. In our bedroom, I needed to clean the windows also and to trim our curtains. When we got them I went for the ‘bohemian curtain’ look. You know the one when they are draped on the floor and it was cute but lately, with our doggy sleeping by the window, they tend to get messy and dirty really fast. So I trimmed them today. And I got our coziest bedding out of the closet and changed the sheets.

I’m excited to continue this challenge. Oh, and today’s prompt for my illustration challenge was socks. Getting a cup of tea and putting on wooly socks… I mean can there be something more satisfying than this. Well, maybe doing that and then settling under a soft blanket with a good book… Yeah, I definitely can see myself doing that. Right now I’m enthralled by ‘The queen of Nothing’ by Holly Black. It’s the final book in ‘The Cruel Prince’ series. I really like this series it’s about the human girl who lives in the land of fairy and she is in constant danger because of the fairy folk. They don’t see humans as anything other than insects. Plus there are politics and the fight for the throne. It’s definitely a must-read if you are into fantasy YA.

So this was my day today. I hope that you had/are having a wonderful day wherever you are.

Stay warm and be safe,

Elina
